Description
Want a new way of looking at story, essay, memoir, and novel structure? Snag this class before it fills! I taught this class once before in this abbreviated format and SO many people have asked for a repeat–how could I say no?
IMPORTANT: This is NOT like a Break of Dawn Breakthrough class. It’s highly informational, and it’s also generative so writers can practice the newly introduced ideas. We’ll cover what Emotional Chronology is, how and why it works. This is a slightly expanded version of the previous EC class, adding a more detailed look at Scene Development, Propulsion, and even how to make a “template” work for you–if you choose.
Emotional Chronology is a term I coined years ago to describe a way of creating structure without relying on templates or even “arcs,” a la Aristotle. (Aristotle’s a pretty old white guy. A very smart old guy, yes. But even Aristotle would want his ideas to evolve, wouldn’t he? It’s 2000+ years later.)
This class also aims to show why Workshops, as we know them, are largely ineffective. The goal of the class is to inspire and open your writing mind to new possibilities not only for structuring your work, but re-thinking process and peer “critiques.” Be ready for a LOT of information, and a lot of writing as well. See you soon!
***Don’t just revise. Transform your work: like the Buddha and the Butterfly***
